Are You Actually Living Life on Your Terms? 7 Uncomfortable Signs You’re Not (2 of 4)

2. You Life Has No Spontaneity

Your routine is so airtight that it is literally screaming for breathing room. There is benefit to having structure, but your schedule is accounted for down to the minute, leaving no room for curiosity or even boredom. You may write this off as you being responsible, but you should probably reflect on the last time you did something just because it felt good in the moment. If you feel like everything in your life has to be pre-scripted and approved, it might be time to ask: who created this system, and why am I still following this script?

3. Your Achievements Don’t Feel Fulfilling

You could be a goal-oriented ambitious person who achieves any and everything—and feel absolutely nothing when you do so. You might have gotten your dream job, earned a degree, or found the perfect relationship; but nothing feels the way you thought it should. You keep hoping that the next big thing will make you feel something, but that feeling is always just out of reach.

If your definition of success is not built on your own ideals, but on someone else’s concept of “making it,” your achievements are never going to feel satisfying. It will only keep you on a hamster wheel, wanting more and continuing to drain yourself to get it.
