She Saw Something in the Mirror. Hours Later, I Found Someone Wearing My Dress (5 of 5)

We didn’t go home that night. I booked a cheap motel off the highway and tried to laugh it off like a weird coincidence. I didn’t want to scare her. Or myself.

Later, as she drifted off watching cartoons, I checked the nanny cam feed. I’d left one running in the kitchen. Just in case.

At 1:23 PM—about fifteen minutes after we left—motion was detected in the hallway.

A tall figure.
Shoulders hunched.
Bare feet.

It walked from the bathroom to the kitchen. Slowly. Pausing by the back door.

Then it turned.

And I saw something that stopped my breath.

She was wearing my dress.

The one I’d left folded on the counter.
