It was an ordinary Tuesday at a Target parking lot just outside of Bloomington, Indiana. People were hustling in and out of the store, arms loaded with paper towels, plastic storage bins, and just one more candle they didn’t really need.

But what started as a routine shopping trip turned into something unforgettable when a note taped to the window of a parked SUV caught the eye of a woman loading her trunk nearby.
