She Tried to Get Me Kicked Off the Plane Because of My Weight — But Karma Boarded Too (2 of 4)
I took out one earbud.
“Sorry, are you speaking to me?”
No answer. Just a stare. Like I was a smudge on her perfect travel day.
“I’m not sitting next to that,” she muttered.
I stayed calm. “You don’t have to. These are both my seats.” I held up my boarding passes.
She scoffed, loud enough for others to hear. “How do people even let themselves get like this? Honestly. It’s gross.”
Her words landed like stones. Not unfamiliar stones, but heavy ones just the same. I tried to turn away. Let it go. But she kept going.
“You shouldn’t even be allowed on a plane. It’s unnatural!”
The plane felt smaller by the second. My face was burning. I looked around — a few passengers turned their heads but said nothing. That silence stung more than her words.
So I stood. Shaking, but steady.
I pressed the call button. A flight attendant appeared, brisk and composed. “Is everything alright, ma’am?”
